Vieques is a small island off of the east coast of mainland Puerto Rico.

There are two main ways to get to Vieques – By air or by passenger ferry.

By Air:

Vieques Air Link,  Cape Air, and Air Sunshine all offer flights from San Juan International (SJU).  Flying is the fastest but most expensive option.  For most airlines, the last flight will depart by 5:00 PM.

By Ferry:

Ceiba is about 1 to 1.5 hours from San Juan by car and shuttle service/Uber is available. Taxis run at around $65 per trip from SJU to the Ferry terminal.  There are shuttle services available, such as PR Go Shuttle for larger groups (starting at $150 for 4 people). You can purchase your tickets online and view the ferry shcedule at www.porferry.com. Only 20% of tickets are sold online, if it appears sold out online it is still possible to buy tickets at the ferry terminal. The ferry is inexpensive (detailed information on rates at: www.porferry.com/rates) and the crossing takes roughly an hour.  Don’t bother taking a car onto the ferry.  There is a parking lot located next to the terminal for about $8 per day and rental transportation is available on Vieques.
